THE CHARRÚAS ENTRE RIOS ARGENTINA

The Charrúas were an indigenous ethnic group that inhabited the region currently known as Entre Ríos, in Argentina. They were nomadic and dedicated themselves mainly to hunting and gathering. Their culture was rich in traditions and beliefs.

It is believed that the Charrúas inhabited the Entre Ríos region long before the arrival of European colonizers. They were brave warriors and fiercely resisted the Spanish conquest. However, with the advance of colonization, its population was decimated and its culture was lost.

Today, the descendants of the Charrúas fight to keep their history and traditions alive. Through cultural events, dances, music and crafts, they try to keep the memory of this important indigenous people alive.
